Who can transport ADR loads and Haulage Oversized UK?
An experienced forwarding operator knows that to transport dangerous goods, you need a driver who:
– over 21 years of age – does not apply to drivers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland who acquire appropriate skills during military training
– completed the ADR and Haulage Oversized UK course and passed the exam – Regulation of the Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy of February 15, 2012 specifies in detail the methods of obtaining ADR certificates by drivers and the form and procedure of conducting the examination at the end of the ADR course
– has an ADR and Haulage Oversized UK certificate – valid for 5 years with the possibility of extension for another 5 years.
Important: In the case of a double crew, two drivers must have ADR qualifications, even if only one would drive the vehicle for the entire route.
It is also worth mentioning here that a driver transporting dangerous goods must also be equipped with the necessary equipment. It should include:
two fire extinguishers,
at least one chock corresponding to the vehicle like Haulage Oversized UK mat and wheel diameter, used to secure the vehicle when parked on an inclined surface,
two standing warning signs powered independently of the vehicle’s electrical installation, e.g. triangles, reflective cones or orange flash lamps,
warning vest for each crew member,
a flashlight without metal surfaces (which may cause sparks), for each crew member,
protective glasses – for each crew member,
a pair of gloves – for each crew member.
